Lesson Description This lesson looks at the creation of the Good Friday Agreement and its impact over the next decade in terms of the establishment of a power-sharing Government in the North. The lesson looks at how the Executive was formed, suspended and then reinstated over those first ten years. Lesson Intentions 1. To understand the model for Government that was created by the Good Friday Agreement. 2. To be aware of the issues faced by the Executive in its first years of existence. Lesson Outcomes 1. Learners will have a general understanding of what the Good Friday Agreement is and its key content. 2. To understand that the Agreement was not an end of the conflict, but a step-change in how disagreements might be managed in a divided society.
