Lesson Description This lesson looks at how the British and Irish Governments were motivated to work together to produce the Anglo-Irish Agreement of 1985. Lesson Intentions 1. Discuss the reasons why the British and Irish Governments worked together. 2. Understand the reasons why both many unionists & many nationalists opposed the Anglo-Irish Agreement. Lesson Outcomes Be able to explain how the Anglo-Irish Agreement came to be developed, why it was opposed, and what it set it out achieve.
