The era covered by the museum is very much based in the recent past. This meant we could also record the stories of those who lived through it. In the coming days and weeks the memories and experiences of local political activists, former prisoners, womens rights campaigners, famous names from music, culture and sport, republican activists, LGBTQ campaigners, local unionists, negotiators of the Good Friday Agreement and local residents will be made accessible via an online oral history archive (here). The stories they recount will be of use to historians, those who want to understand what is was like growing up during a guerilla conflict and also students studying the history of the conflict and peace process in the North of Ireland.
